Citizens
for Smart Growth is a community-based, non-partisan 501c3 nonprofit advocacy group addressing growth issues within Blaine County. We work to preserve our natural assets—rural charm, open space, air and water quality and wildlife habitat—while encouraging economic prosperity.

Since
its formation in 1997, Smart Growth has enjoyed the support
of over 650+ individuals in our community. In addition to its
many volunteers, in 1998 Smart Growth employed its first professional
staff member by retaining a contract attorney to represent
its views to county commissioners and city council members,
and planning and zoning commission members. In 2000, Smart
Growth added a part-time office manager to its staff and in
September of 2001 an executive director was brought in to
lead the organization. |
